This study, in which the NOTES Toolbox was used in a porcine model, was conducted by doctors at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Sahlgrenska University Hospital (Goteborg, Sweden) and Imperial College (London). A New NOTES Toolbox: Flexible Instruments for Translumenal Surgery (Emerging Tech Podium Presentation) - The study investigators concluded the NOTES Toolbox greatly expands the capabilities of the endoscope and will serve as an excellent foundation for future innovations.Study authors, led by Imperial College (London) and Colchester General Hospital (United Kingdom), believe the system could help overcome visualization challenges and instrument congestion associated with NOTES and SSL. The Development and Testing of a Tethered, Independent Camera for NOTES and Single-Site Laparoscopic Procedures (Podium Presentation) - Found a newly developed displaced visualization system provided surgeons a "stadium view" similar to that of a laparoscope during preclinical NOTES procedures in the porcine model. Highlights of the NOTES Toolbox studies presented at the 2009 SAGES Annual Meeting include: The NOTES Toolbox is a comprehensive suite of devices specifically designed for natural orifice surgery. These new devices overcome some of the force limitations typical of flexible devices and may provide the operating clinician capabilities that are more in line with laparoscopy." "In particular, we found the natural orifice surgery devices developed by Ethicon Endo-Surgery addressed some fundamental limitations of the off-the-shelf endoscopic instruments used in NOTES procedures to date. Scott MD, FACS, associate professor of surgery, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. "The development of new technology will be integral in order to safely and responsibly move SSL and NOTES forward," said Daniel J. Two additional studies demonstrated a new multi-port device developed by Ethicon-Endo Surgery successfully facilitated single-site laparoscopy (SSL). Setting the stage for human trials, 13 of the studies reported positive preliminary experiences with the devices during, or with direct application to, natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES). Ethicon Endo-Surgery Novel Investigational Notes and SSL Devices Featured In 15 Presentations At SAGESĬINCINNATI - ApEthicon Endo-Surgery today announced the company's novel, investigational *devices, including its NOTES Toolbox ™, are featured in 15 studies being presented at the 2009 Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Annual Meeting.

Ultimately the aim should be to make a high-quality working derivative of the RAW file that is easy to edit while offering as much flexibility as possible. That way, everything that is done with RAW files is intended to give you an accurate, ready-to-edit media file, that reflects the original shooting intent. EditReady’s RAW implementation goes to great lengths to use the camera manufacturer’s own RAW decoders, and decode video files using each specific cameras’ own Log format. How this is done depends on how the camera manufacturers have designed their RAW formats. RAW files need to be debayered first and foremost. The biggest problem is that are so many different RAW formats and various NLE and color grading platforms don’t always support some of them. With so many fast computers and hard drive solutions now on the market, RAW has become a lot more feasible format to work with. It allows you to transcode your footage to an editable format, and with this latest update, it can now handle RAW formats.ĮditReady supports the following RAW formats: EditReady RAWĮditReady has always been a useful piece of software for when your NLE didn’t support your camera’s codec or container. Canister has been transformative for LTO users, and now it supports Spanning – the ability to span file transfers across multiple tapes. The latest release, which is also the first new version of EditReady since it became part of Hedge, solves the problem of converting RAW footage quickly into an editable format.Ĭanister Spanning – Until Hedge released Canister, an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface and cataloguer for LTO, users were held back by an unfriendly, overly technical software experience. Hedge Elements is ideal for organizations that need their video files to conform to their organizational structures and procedures, whether ad hoc or rigidly formal.ĮditReady RAW– The popular, blazingly fast, and easy to use transcoding application now supports RAW video, including ARRI RAW, Codex HDE, ProRes RAW, and RED R3D, and Blackmagic RAW. Hedge Elements – Elements are Hedge’s term for the varied and customizable metadata that users can now associate (and keep) with a file to clarify the role of that file to other creative and technical professionals later in the workflow. These latest updates address common problems such as dealing with unorganized media that requires custom-built metadata fields, RAW transcoding, and ensuring individual media archives can span multiple LTO tapes. This enables us to have one xls sheet to cover all the various different portals.Hedge has updated all three of its major platforms. What is common amongst all the stock sites is the attributes: filename, title, description & keywords. There is a sample spreadsheet attached. When I want to make a change to the keywords of the video, I then tweak the xls spreadsheet and re import it.This method allows us to work fast, but copy / pasting the attributes each video in a speedy manner. The CSV file is then ingested into the stock sellers website and it populates the metadata video online.
